Allow for more than the trailer body
Ask for the dimensions of the actual proposed trailer, including its towbar, steps, doors and any access equipment. A space that fits the body alone may not leave safe room for entry or the delivery manoeuvre. Describe nearby vehicles, landscaping and overhead obstructions.
Do not assume a photograph establishes the number of compartments or accessible configuration. Confirm the model, layout and relevant features for your dates. If a level-entry option is essential, make that explicit in the first conversation.
Check utilities before selecting a model
Power and water needs vary by equipment. Identify what is genuinely available at the placement point, not simply somewhere in the building. Ask which connections or independent arrangements the selected trailer requires and who is responsible for them.
An extension lead or hose is not a complete utilities plan. The event or property team should review safe routes and suitability with the relevant qualified people. Avoid placing connections across an entrance without an agreed arrangement.
Keep collection in view
A successful arrival does not guarantee an easy departure. Guests’ cars, overnight equipment or a locked property can obstruct collection. Put the agreed access arrangements into the venue schedule and assign a contact for the end of the rental.
Share the event length and expected use so servicing can be considered alongside amenities. We can discuss a trailer enquiry without assuming that a particular model or date is available until confirmed.
